Audrey Melo é um artista multidisciplinar que trabalha com pintura, desenho, fotografia, vídeo, instalação e colagem, explorando a pós-abstração, o figurativo furtivo e a tensão entre liberdade e controle desproporcional. Em sua prática artística, ele encontra uma forma de encontro escapista, na qual ocorre uma jornada transformadora entre controle e liberdade, acompanhada por noções de perda de autocontrole, liberação emocional e experiências diversas.
A busca contínua por experimentar a liberdade metodologicamente resulta em estratégias artísticas — um dos muitos paradoxos na obra do artista. Pode-se argumentar que essa dissonância entre o aspecto cognitivo de sua prática, na forma de uma base conceitual acompanhada por estratégias técnicas variadas, e a descarga emotiva, é um alívio quase simbólico dos conflitos vivenciados pelo indivíduo no tempos atuais, dissecando a ironia da vida inspirada pelo cotidiano e pelo transcendente, pelo sensível e pelo calculado, pela intencionalidade e pelo acaso, pelo efêmero e pelo permanente.
Nascido em 1985 em Sto. Antônio de Jesus, cidade do Estado da Bahia, Brasil, graduado em Comunicação Social com Habilitação em Produção Cultural, participou de grupos de artistas para trocas e desenvolvimento de sua poética, além de cursos livres realizados em instituições como Instituto Tomie Ohtake, Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP), Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (MAM) e EAV Parque Lage (RJ).

Audrey Melo is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing, photography, video, installation, and collage, exploring post-abstraction, elusive figuration, and the tension between freedom and disproportionate control. In his artistic practice, he finds a form of escapist encounter in which a transformative journey between control and freedom unfolds, accompanied by notions of loss of self-control, emotional release, and diverse experiences.
The continuous pursuit of experiencing freedom methodologically gives rise to artistic strategies—one of the many paradoxes in his work. One might argue that this dissonance between the cognitive dimension of his practice—embodied in a conceptual foundation paired with varied technical strategies—and the emotional outpouring functions as an almost symbolic relief from the conflicts faced by individuals today, dissecting the irony of a life inspired by the everyday and the transcendent, the sensual and the calculated, intentionality and chance, the ephemeral and the permanent.
Born in 1985 in Santo Antônio de Jesus, Bahia, Brazil, he holds a degree in Social Communication with a concentration in Cultural Production. He has participated in artist groups for exchange and the development of his poetics, in addition to taking independent courses at institutions such as Instituto Tomie Ohtake, the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP), the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (MAM), and EAV Parque Lage (RJ).
